    BURNCO Rock Products Ltd has a fantastic opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Intern based out of our corporate headquarters in Calgary, Alberta . You will report to our Manager, Procurement, or their designate, and work closely with our key internal stakeholders across our lines of business.

    As the Strategic Sourcing Intern you will assist our procurement professionals in the identification and execution of our Source to Contract processes, savings and unlocking cashflow initiatives, and related supporting functions while driving strategic growth and value realization.

    What You Will Be Doing

    How we see your role breaking down:

  • Administrative tasks supporting the logging of savings initiatives in support of KPI monitoring.
  • Assist with developing data-driven action plans and execution.
  • Support sourcing and procurement activities with analysis and recommendation formulation.
  • Assist multiple function within the Procurement department.
  • Support the ongoing development of BURNCO vendor profiles and contact information.
  • Assist with supplier spend categorization efforts and identification of consolidation opportunities.
  • Contribute to RFP bid analysis in co-ordination with the strategic sourcing team and identified stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support indexing and filing executed contracts and related documents.
  • Support vendor outreach initiatives in relation to relationship management and procurement initiative communications.
  • Assist with record keeping of Source-to-Contract processes and identified continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in the draft and development of RFP packages including the core RFP document and any supporting data and appendices.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc business projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • What we would like from you

    Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field with record of strong academic achievement.
  • Capabilities:

  • Highly analytical and able to communicate findings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once is desired.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using or navigating ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Power BI.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn.
