STRABAG is actively seeking an IT-Service Technician for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to continued success.
Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare with the company's head office and procurement department the mobilization of new project sites
- Plan and prepare with the company's head office the rollout or migration to new systems
- Liaise with the company's head office and suppliers the installation and operation of site communication and safety systems
- Set up IT devices/tools for new employees as part of the onboarding process
- Managing escalation process efficiently, ensuring second level/supplier is provided with relevant information and constantly chased
- Testing and maintaining equipment such as Projectors, VC systems, Printers & Plotters etc
- Liaise with the company's head office and provide support to resolve any IT Issues
- Following up with customers and service providers/level2 to ensure full resolution of issues
- Ensuring IT systems are maintained and accurate
- Providing technical assistance for questions and problems
- Resolving level1 issues/requests with networks and other systems
- Diagnosing errors and other issues
- Check the operation of printers, scanners, plotters
- Create and maintain telephone extensions
- Maintain inventory (PCs and accessories)
- Very good English skills, German skills, or willingness to learn German are desirable
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Computer Science Studies, verifiable training in computer sciences or degree in Construction Engineering in combination with solid expertise in the field of information technology is a must
- Construction site experience in large projects (between 200m and 1bn contractual value) in a comparable position is desirable
- Experience in planning and preparation of midsized IT projects (migration, mobilization, rollout, etc.)
- Solid expertise in information technology platforms (Office 365, Windows operating systems) and networking
- Expertise in site communication systems (DMR, RoIP, VoIP, Tagging, access control) are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Valid G class Drivers License
- Goaloriented, committed and ability to work independently
- Teamwork capabilities
- Has the initiative to constantly learn and stay up to date with technical knowledge
- Can think through problems, troubleshoot in a methodical manner and escalate as required
- Able to work independently and manage/prioritize tasks
- Proven organizations skills and structured methods of working
- A polite, friendly and professional person who is solutions focused
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively with an excellent telephone manner
- Holds relevant certification or qualification at an appropriate level to fulfill the technical specialist areas of the role is desirable.
- An understanding of how to work within agreed practices to maintain effective ICT solutions.
- An understanding of delivering within agreed business processes to support ICT users through effective customer service and operational delivery.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
