Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Lead and provide guidance to team members of the department.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, practices are understood and followed.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks to the team and set daytoday objectives to achieve operational targets.
  • Initiate decisions related to hiring and performance management of team members, complete performance reviews.
  • Assess training requirements to maintain a high quality of work.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives on current systems and processes to solve reoccurring issues and improve on the effectiveness of the team.
  • Make adjustments or enhancements to systems and processes to improve effectiveness of team.
  • Work closely with other departments to achieve objectives.
  • Ensure safe practices are being followed and safe conditions exist in the work area.

Minimum Requirements:


  • College diploma in operations management, process engineering, or equivalent experience of a minimum of three (3) years team lead / supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with powder coating systems and grinding process is preferred.

Skills:


  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Understanding of basic management approaches such as prioritizing work, equipment utilization, team development and coaching.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and ERP systems such as Oracle.

Physical Effort:

Normal or frequent moderate physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. Involves standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs.
