Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead and provide guidance to team members of the department.
Ensure policies, procedures, practices are understood and followed.
Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks to the team and set daytoday objectives to achieve operational targets.
Initiate decisions related to hiring and performance management of team members, complete performance reviews.
Assess training requirements to maintain a high quality of work.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives on current systems and processes to solve reoccurring issues and improve on the effectiveness of the team.
Make adjustments or enhancements to systems and processes to improve effectiveness of team.
Work closely with other departments to achieve objectives.
Ensure safe practices are being followed and safe conditions exist in the work area.

Minimum Requirements:

College diploma in operations management, process engineering, or equivalent experience of a minimum of three (3) years team lead / supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with powder coating systems and grinding process is preferred.

Skills:

Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Understanding of basic management approaches such as prioritizing work, equipment utilization, team development and coaching.
Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing considered an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and ERP systems such as Oracle.

Physical Effort:

Normal or frequent moderate physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. Involves standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs.
