Come join us on roads less travelled and turn your journey into an adventure.The Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services Department has approximately 650 km of road and approximately 148 bridges under its jurisdiction.
The department administers a road system composed of 'collector and arterial' roads, which distinguishes the County system from the local municipal road system.
This system provides a consistent level of service between local urban, industrial, commercial and recreational centres. The Transportation and Environmental Services Department also coordinates Waste Management for the County.About the Job
Reporting to the Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of all County Road maintenance functions.
The incumbent is also responsible for input into the planning of road construction projects and is responsible for the overall co-ordination and execution of road construction projects, maintenance activities and the preparation of contract documents, administration, coordination and inspection of contracts.
The Manager oversees the employees, equipment and housing required to complete these responsibilities.Salary & Benefits

$106,288 - $125,034 based on a 35 hour work week

Requirements:
Three year diploma in Civil Engineering
CET Designation
Construction Road Supervisor - Senior (CRS-S) Designation, or working towards same
Seven years of previous experience in a municipal construction setting
Ability to create realistic schedules to support the timely completion of construction projects
Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
Ability to manage coordination efforts in construction projects with various parties, such as architects, project engineers, and landscaping installers
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
Demonstrated project management skills
Experience with budget preparation and management
Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
Proven experience preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
Valid Class G Driver's License
Audiometric Testing completed within 90 days of starting position
