Job Summary


The Manager, ANS TECHNOLOGY TRAINING is the key leadership contact responsible for managing the implementation and delivery of all ANS technology training products nationally.

The role is critical in ensuring ANS Technology employees receive the training required for safe and effective service delivery. The role ensures that all training is delivered in accordance with applicable regulations and corporate policies, procedures and directives in order to support safe, reliable, compliant and efficient maintenance of all equipment involved in

  • ATS Service Delivery.


The Manager is the primary link between the Technology management teams, ATM and CNS Solutions, Technical Services Management and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of service and evolution of NAV CANADA's training programs and services.

The role provides strategic consultation and planning services on a wide range of Technology programs and services in the field including the implementation of ANS Technology products, competency retentions and skill maintenance requirements.


The Manager serves as a nexus of learning culture, business champion, change agent, and strategic partner to national technology training employees and management.

The role is responsible for advising and working in collaboration with regional management and employees on strategic and tactical training direction and ensures that the national needs are reflected in the delivery of ANS Technology training programs and services.

In this role you will:


Leads a large, diverse team of employees represented by three unions by creating a positive and collaborative work environment that provides its employees direction, regular communication, development opportunities, and a commitment to a common vision and shared values.

Functionally coaches, mentors and develops Technology training managers and leadership teams to create a high performing and highly engaged learning culture.

You will ensure the teams provide effective and high-quality training to all learners within the system Ensures that the delivery of all Technology training products and services align to regulatory standards, corporate policy, and approved procedures, guidelines and directives.

Participates in reviews of safety findings and ensures all safety related activities that require modified or enhanced training are planned and implemented according to committed schedules.

Responsible for advancing training commonality and standardization, and transitioning technology to these standards which includes driving the longer-term strategies Reviews and manages the operational and budgetary plans, allocates and manages material, financial, and human resources to meet future business needs and priorities

Scope and Impact


The ANS Technology training team will provide innovative and expert leadership in the technology training development and delivery nationally and provide input to shape and continually improve national technology, policies, procedures, and operational activities to comply with applicable laws, regulations and directives.

They are responsible for collaborating with all ANS Technology leadership teams to keep them informed about the overall health of the national technology training portfolio, secure necessary resources commitments for training delivery and development, establish understanding and support for investments, and shape prioritization of activities.

The roles will champion technology training initiatives occurring nationally.

They act as a national strategic advisor within the technology department to leverage training to drive greater value to the company and work to drive longer-term strategy of commonality.


Decisions/actions directly impact service delivery (safety, financial and human resources) and could impact relations with unions, employees, users, customers and stakeholders (both internal and external).


What you bring:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a technologyrelated field or in education. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Program or Project Management Certification is an asset
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Significant experience in adult training with a comprehensive understanding of the industry
- at least 5 years of related supervisory/management experience.

  • Proven leadership experience demonstrating the skills required to manage people, processes and information in a technology
