We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager, Valuation Services, to join our growing firm.

As a trusted advisor, you will provide independent and reliable business valuations that empower clients to advance their strategic goals and make value-driven business decisions with confidence.


Collaborating directly with the Partners of our Tax, Small and Medium Enterprise and Assurance and Advisory Divisions, this role will manage our portfolio of business valuation services for new and existing clients.

In addition, to advancing our framework of tools and resources for conducting various aspects of our valuation work.

Primary responsibilities:


  • Design and develop highquality deliverables including reports, presentations and correspondence.
  • Assurance group mandates: purchase price allocations; impairment assessment support; valuation of complex instruments.
  • Tax planning mandates: value goodwill when assessing small business corporation status; value businesses for a butterfly transaction; value companies for estate freezes.
  • Advisory mandate: purchase or sale of a business including due diligence and quality of earnings reports; dispute resolution support, litigation damage quantification; matrimonial breakdown division of assets; economic job loss reports.
  • Minimizing tax consequences and establishing the means to pay for purchases/acquisitions.
  • Offer performance improvement initiatives that will enhance cash flow and profits beyond the sale of business.
  • Support in sourcing corporate financing to complete business transactions.
  • Structure, review, and advise on financial models and business plans.
  • Perform industry and market financial research, extract meaningful information from relevant public company data and precedent transaction data, administration, and completion of client engagements.
  • Take ownership of developing new service offerings or team process improvements.
  • Development and review of valuation policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
  • Lead interactions with client management, stakeholders, legal counsel, and financial advisors.
  • Lead industry and market research on trends, valuation multiples for relevant public companies and precedent transactions.
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop.
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development.

Qualifications & Role Requirements:


  • Possess a minimum of three years' experience preparing business valuations in a client facing role.
  • Completion of the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation and the Chartered Professional Accounting designation
  • Carry a high standard of integrity with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in developing tools and resources for conducting various aspects of valuation work.
  • Experience in business and practice development.
  • Proven ability to deal directly with clients, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Caseware, and Taxprep would be an asset.
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
