Description

Our office in Vancouver is expanding and we are now looking for an experienced Chartering Manager to join our team.

The position will be placed in our Vancouver office at 1050 West Pender Street, Unit #1730.

We are seeking a Parceling Specialist with experience in handling and managing bulk and steel shipments.


Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain internal and external relationships with customers, brokers, owners, internal stake holders, etc.
  • Develop strategic trades and increase NORDEN's parceling presence in the region.
  • Maximize earnings on own tonnage and spot arbitrage opportunities.
  • Create value by securing and executing on spot cargoes, COA's, tonnage and cargo book management.
  • Manage the endtoend process of parceling steel shipments, including coordinating with customers, shipping agents, overseas offices, vessel owners, etc.
  • Build trust and support our clients' needs and expectations. We are customer centric.
  • Liaise with our Operations team and Port Captain to ensure that vessels are loaded and discharged efficiently and in accordance with all contractual obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor global macro and regional micro trends and provide views on market direction.

Requirements/Profile:

You have a minimum 5 years of experience in Dry Cargo Chartering focusing on parceling, including steel products. As an individual, you are collaborative, trustworthy, and reliable focusing on quality work and overall team development. You are attention to detail and ability to balance responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Apart from this we expect that you have:

  • Good knowledge of international trade practices, regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • Full understanding of commercial terms and Charter Party clauses.
  • Comprehensive communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, shipping agents, and carriers.
  • Comprehensive analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with IMOS and SEDNA is considered an asset.
