Job Summary

A Brief Overview


The Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law ("GDipICL") is an innovative online program designed to equip students with the knowledge, strategic competencies, practical skills, and critical judgement necessary for a career in immigration consulting as well as roles in the broader immigration ecosystem.

The GDipICL is Canada's only English-language pathway to becoming a licensed immigration consultant and prepares students for the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants mandatory Entry-to-Practice Exam.


This position acts as a first point of contact for admissions, and provides information and resources to students, parents, and other internal and external parties.

This position administers the phases of the admissions cycle, including processing requests from applicants, and preparing and distributing correspondence and documents to program offices.

This position assists students with the registration process, including identifying required documentation, processing and signing documents on behalf of senior staff, such as academic change forms and status changes.

This position also initiates and generates reports on admissions data.


What you will do


Acts as a first point of contact for admissions, and provides information and resources to students, parents, and other internal and external parties.


  • Administers the phases of the admissions cycle, including processing requests from applicants, and preparing and distributing correspondence and documents to program offices.
  • Assists students with the registration process, including identifying required documentation, processing and signing documents on behalf of senior staff, such as academic change forms and status changes.
  • Initiates and generates reports on admissions data.
  • Monitors transcripts and updates registration data.
  • Provides administrative support to the department and/or unit.
  • Participates in recruiting events and hosting webinars.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Two-Year Community College Diploma.
- in business administration preferred.


Required Experience

  • More than 1 year and up to and including 2 years of experience.
  • Experience with providing administrative support considered an asset (e.g., document editing, proofing, formatting and production, data entry, scheduling/coordinating meetings and/or travel arrangements, receiving/relaying messages, etc.).
  • Experience working with diverse populations/equity deserving groups considered an asset.
  • Experience in writing, interviewing, reviewing, editing and/or proofreading internal and/or external communications and documents considered an asset (e.g., social media, policy manuals, newsletters, handbooks, legal documents, forms/templates, blogs, training/reference materials, technical documents, webinars, etc.).
  • Experience in client and/or customer experience functions considered an asset.
  • Experience in data, trend analysis and reporting considered an asset.
  • Experience in information systems with a focus on classifying, storing and disposing of electronic records considered an asset.
  • Experience working at a postsecondary education institution considered an asset.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
