Field Service Technician - Trainee (Hamilton)
- Do you like working with your hands?
- Are you mechanically inclined?
- Can you troubleshoot hardware?
- Do you have some exposure to troubleshooting software?
Our Service Technicians provide superior customer service to Canon clients, repairing and maintaining high-end black and white and colour printing equipment in an assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow contact protocol when discussing servicerelated matters with Dispatch and FSM:
- Product information
- Customer concerns
- Parts problems
- Adhere to customer requirements in providing quality products and service
- Respond to customer calls in a prompt and efficient manner
- Accomplish assigned service calls thoroughly within an average time per call as defined by management
- Perform equipment repairs and conduct preventative maintenance using the most costefficient methods
- Complete standard network installations of equipment
- Fill out performance reports on unusual equipment problems
- Submit all service reports in a timely fashion
- Maintain parts inventory, and order parts as necessary
To Succeed, You Will Have:
- Completed postsecondary education (specialty in technical or technological electronics and/or business equipment)
- Computer knowledge (working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and aptitude for electromechanics
- Proven knowledge of colour theory
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with people in all levels of the organization and its customers in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Able to install and setup delivered equipment
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to organize a territory effectively to minimize travel time and to maximize on number of clients to service
- Must possess a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and a dependable vehicle
