    PACCAR Leasing (PLC)

    PacLease provides customers with value-added transportation services and premium-quality Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF vehicles. It is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative global leasing networks in the industry.

    Requisition Summary


    The Lead Technician helps direct the maintenance/service team for revenue producing and service vehicles, as well as shop equipment, for a designated shift. Additionally, the position assists with completing repair work, assigning work and supervising work produced by Technicians for quality, timeliness and repair accuracy.

    Our shop is open Monday through Friday from 6 am to 11 pm, and we are looking for candidates who are available to work 2nd shift: 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. For employees who work evening shift, PACCAR Leasing offers a 5% shift premium.

    This position also receives a $1,000 sign-on bonus provided to purchase tools.

    Job Functions / Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic inspections on general truck-tractor systems.
    • Perform preventative maintenance inspection of truck-tractor components.
    • Perform repairs to truck-tractor components.
    • Ensure that work performed is properly recorded on shop repair orders, including time, parts, tires and material.
    • Complete required paperwork to reflect hours, parts and lube, which are utilized within each job function.
    • Communicate all deviations or deficiencies to Company policy to the Shift Supervisor and/or Service Manager.
    • Support Shift Supervisor to Train, instruct and assist mechanics and service island employees.
    • Assist Shift Supervisor to determine and continually improve staffing utilization by assigning jobs, handling break-downs, and assisting walk-ins.
    • Assist Shift Supervisor in personnel-related issues, including disciplinary action, performance evaluations, etc.
    • Implement Lean Principles in assigned departments to include standard work, visual management, workplace organization, and teamwork
    • Promote a safe work environment; ensures safety procedures are followed, including clean-up after repairs, uniforms, and attendance.
    • Responsible for running shift work in accordance with shop objectives to meet business goals

    Education

    • High school diploma.
    • Technical Degree preferred.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of five years truck-trailer repair experience, preferably with lead experience
      • Extensive knowledge of diesel mechanics.
    • Able and willing to work varying shifts and locations.
    • Safety conscious.
    • Customer Service Experience with strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Capable of completing job functions without repeat repairs.
    • Flexibility with work hours.
    • Demonstrated Leadership skill including ability to supervise, make decisions and use good judgment.
