About this opportunity
This is a remote work-from-home position. The successful applicant must be reliably available to work regular business hours.


Take an inside look at what you'll do each day

  • Provide psychotherapeutic assessment and treatment to individuals presenting primarily with traumatic mental stress injuries
  • Be responsible for working effectively and collaboratively with Community Occupational Therapists to provide concurrent treatment that supports clients getting back to their normal living activities and daily functioning (including return to work)
  • Provide outcomefocused onetoone treatment in collaboration with a supervising psychologist
  • Provide evidenceinformed, goal oriented (SMART goals within Goal Attainment Scaling approach)
  • Provide detailed written reports and verbal updates of treatment progress to health funders including WSIB case managers and nurse consultants
  • Deliver virtual group therapy treatment in a structured program for employers to support individuals at work who selfidentify as experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, and/or vicarious trauma
  • Form and establish therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Utilize effective and clear communication skills
  • Provide sound clinical acumen and ethical judgement
  • Make appropriate and effective use of self in clinical treatment

What you need to be successful

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Psychotherapist is recommended
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • A Master's degree in counselling or a psychologyrelated discipline
  • Be experienced in the assessment and treatment of a widerange of mental health symptoms, particularly trauma and stressorrelated disorders
  • Have clinical knowledge in the area of trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety and addictions
  • Possess experience working with trauma, and clients making the transition back to work
  • Have high familiarity in delivering a variety of different clinical modalities within both shortandlongterm intervention plans, in particular, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Be comfortable in collaborating and communicating with Occupational Therapists and Psychologists
  • Have a strong understanding of principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as occupational issues related to burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma
  • Have an understanding of group dynamics and group facilitation
  • An ability to set the tone for group sessions, to engage participation from group members, to be responsive and flexible, and to create a safe space for participants
  • All team members are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID19 and provide proof of vaccination upon hire or provide a valid medical exemption
