Environmental Sciences technical group is looking a

Team Manager to join our team. In this position, you be engaged in the management of workflow, support the growth and development of technical skills of those in your team, and work on new and exciting geoscience projects across Ontario.

Responsibilities:


What your day will look like

Management Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement an annual plan for your team to aid in the successful growth of the team.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy team that enhances the effectiveness and capability of the Environmental Sciences Group.
  • Coordinate and execute workflow planning to contribute to technical group resource planning.
  • Manage and balance work across team members and coordinate with others manager's for balancing of work across other teams.
  • Manage capacity of operating team to meet business needs, including the addition of capacity hires into the team and skill development.
  • Coordinate with advisers and support the career development of all team members.
  • Accountable for ensuring effective feedback is occurring within the team.

Technical Accountabilities

  • Manage and complete contaminated sites projects including: Phase I, II & III ESAs, soil and groundwater sampling programs, and/or contaminated site remediation projects.
  • Prepare and manage: health and safety plans for field projects, coordinate field programs, prepare project contracts and agreements, complete subcontractor selection and oversight and organize/manage field teams.
  • Coordinate, manage and build business relationships with: clients, regulators, service providers (e.g., laboratories, subcontractor) and thirdparty stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review written reports, compile and revise contracts and other supporting documentation

Learning & Development

  • Actively participate in the career development of peers and junior staff including providing technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contributions to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Qualifications:

What you will need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related experience in the environmental science discipline.

Experience:

-
8+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related industrial experience
as an environmental professional and project manager
:


  • Team management experience in an Environmental Sciences (or related) industry overseeing activities, performance, and efficiency of team members.
  • Proven Project Management experience and ability to work on multiple or complex projects simultaneously, build project plans, deliver the outcomes on time, schedule tasks, and delegate assignments.
  • Foundational understanding of financial and business metrics.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand business needs and maintain strong crossfucntional relationships.
  • Demonstrate dedication and motivation to achieve high standards in the performance of duties.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Committed to a culture of quality including a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet timebased deliverables and adapt to changing expectations.
