The Manager Scale House and Dispatch is responsible for directing and monitoring scale team members, drivers and dispatchers, overseeing and ensuring safety of personnel and reporting on daily/weekly objectives to ensure customer satisfaction and organizational goals are being meet.

As the Manager, Scale House and Dispatch, you will be responsible to:

  • Schedule, train, direct, motivate and evaluate all staff members to ensure daily/weekly operational objectives are completed in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates team members on and ongoing basis and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Monitors and approves employee timecards in accordance with governing law and established policies and procedures to ensure staff members are compensated accordingly.
  • Manages the tactical operations as well as strategic function of the transportation department; Ensure all operations run smoothly and targets are met ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for directing and managing all functions of the Transportation Operation. This role is responsible for managing drivers, routes, deliveries, maintenance, security and safety, and other transportation related functions to create direct contributions to the organization and to customers' experiences.
  • Performs and oversees all facets of the truck weighing process including scale operation, data collection and entry and general administrative support ensuring accuracy in inventory and contract management.
  • Instructs and informs team members of the health and safety requirements to promote a safe workplace and ensure the team carries out responsibilities in compliance with the provisions of governing Occupational Health and Safety legislation and its regulations and wears any required personal protective equipment and clothing
years' experience with weigh scale operations
years' experience in a leadership role

  • Superior ability to train, coach, develop, and motivate staff members.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel other logistics software an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organized and strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment and be flexible to changing priorities
  • Analytical mindset and good problemsolving skills
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics
