Job Description:


What you're responsible for:


  • Managing a team of Health and Safety Advisors & Coordinators.
  • Managing the coordination of crisis situations and act as a key resource to partners and relevant authorities.
  • Participating in the creation and implementation of the health and safety strategic plan and overall health and safety program.
  • Coaching, advising and supporting operations teams to develop an accident prevention culture.
  • Ensuring consistent delivery of the health and safety program, including the implementation of policies, programs, and processes to report and improve existing occupational health and safety practices and investigations.
  • Collaborating with managers, supervisors and HR business partners to implement proactive and preventive work safety solutions.
  • Conducting site visits and spot audits.
  • Monitoring and reporting health and safety KPIs and develop a regional plan with Site Manager and operational teams to improve them.
  • Working in partnership with the Site Manager to ensure compliance with provincial health and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Promoting communication of overall H&S strategic plan and share best health and safety practices across all sites and departments.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in health and safety, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or another equivalent field and/or relevant professional certification.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in health and safety management in manufacturing or heavy industry, including experience in a multisite environment.
  • Experience in a fastpaced environment and ability to adapt to constant changes impacting health and safety.
  • Practical knowledge of applicable OHS legislation, standards, and regulations
  • Strong communication skills to maintain good interpersonal relations with various stakeholders.
  • An innovative and problemsolving mindset, constantly looking for creative ways to problem solve.
  • Bilingualism (an asset)
