Employment Intake Support Specialist (Contract):


About You:


A self-starter and a people person, you are well-equipped with empathy for others, direct yet tactful conversation skills, and a keen eye for detail.

You are hoping to be able to bring your skills to the landscape or horticulture sector as well as gain valuable non-profit experience.

Your emotional intelligence and coaching abilities are formidable assets when it comes to reading people's needs and coaching them to achieve their goals.

This combination of experiences has given you an advantage when it comes to intakes or recruiting processes. You are a highly organized individual with a goal-oriented mindset, which makes you an invaluable asset for this role.


What You'll Be Doing:


What You'll Be Responsible For:


  • Provide input in the selection of a minimum of 20 participants per cohort ensuring a proper representation of participants who selfidentified as belonging to an underrepresented group (ie. Women, Youth, Persons with disabilities, Racialized Groups, Justice Involved, Indigenous Peoples, etc.)
  • Provide assigned program participants with orientation, and/or referrals during training delivery.
  • Maintain a better than 80% success rate of clients completing the program and achieving employment goals
  • Maintain accurate and complete files for each assigned client using SUMAC
  • Enter data into trackers using programs like Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training
  • Build and maintain relationships with Service Providers and community outreach organizations
  • Answer questions about the GROW program
  • Nurture a culture of service, innovation, and creativity within the staff environment

Requirements:


  • Successful experience in applicant selection, and onboarding
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with applicants, program participants, and staff
  • Strong organizational skills paired with the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and problemsolving skills
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated a strong work ethic
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative
  • An understanding of the landscape horticulture trades is preferred
  • Experience in organizing and hosting virtual meetings and events
  • Experience working with notforprofit teams, chapters, committees, and boards preferred
  • Experience with database management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow through effectively
  • Technical savvy with software tools
  • Demonstrated coaching skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace

About this position:


  • Contract ( 6 months)with opportunity for extension
  • Reports to GROW program manager
  • Landscape Ontario has a hybrid work model in place allowing for flexibility and fluidity in your weekly schedule
  • Our office is in Milton, ON at the 401 between James Snow Parkway and Trafalgar Rd

Salary and Benefits:

- $25.00-$30.00/hr
