What you'll do


Reporting to the AVP, Merchandise Operations, the Manager Line Review Quality & Operations, is the leader of the line review team that supports the Category Business Managers and Category Business Analyst as well as other cross-functional teams to create retail-ready, easy to execute Deal Letters (Line Review/ Product Assortment Decision Guide) that meet the highest quality standards for both the CTR and Party City banners.


Based on the Category Business Managers product assortment decisions the Deal Letter is the document and ordering tool that our Dealers (Store Owners) use to make product assortment selections.

Through understanding the guidelines, processes and best practices, the Manager coaches the team and performs final quality checks to the Deal Letter document as well as works with various stakeholder groups to resolve or escalate issues to ensure quality standards and timelines are met.


The Manager, Line Review Quality & Operations takes full accountability for the end-to-end delivery and enhancements of the Line Review Deal Letter Assortment Communication, including people, process and technology.

This is achieved through close collaboration with cross-functional leaders representing Merchandising, Space Planning, Supply Chain, Store Support, Ordering Operations, Finance, Merch System Admin, Quality and IT.


The Manager Line Review Operations is also accountable to build upon current line review processes while elevating the assortment communication to be more visually inspiring, interactive, and incorporating new and innovative ways to present key data elements that will establish the foundation for the eventual transition to a fully digital Deal Letter.


  • Accountable for the continuous improvement and implementation of a sustaining end to end Deal Letter build process for both CTR and Party City deals to deliver quality, ontime Deal Letters through prioritization, scope alignment, design, creation, and issue resolution on all facets of the letter across all Merchandising LOBs.
  • Accountable to coach the team and perform final quality assurance checks on all line review letters to ensure line review operations standards for integrity and accuracy are adhered to and ensures recommendations for any improvements back to merchandising or cross functional teams are executed.
  • Ensures Line Review Team organizing preDeal Letter kickoff with merchandising teams to validate strategy, product assortment details and recommends any special treatments to ensure success of Deal Letter.
  • Influence's work of Merchandising, Space Planning, Translations, Network Performance and Log Deal Management teams through managing and fostering positive and efficient working relationships
  • SME and central point of contact for line review processes across merchandising, space planning, supply chain solutions, and packaging
  • Monitor Deal Letter performance and ensure Line Review Operations conducting constructive postmortems with merchandising teams and provide recommendations on how to improve Deal Letter quality metrics, on time mail rate and improve execution of Deal Letter for following year(s)
  • Lead weekly milestones meeting with cross functional teams
  • Ensure Line Review Operations compiling monthly reporting of deal letter quality metrics to share with senior leadership

What you bring

  • University or College degree, preferably in business, retail management or communications
  • 5 year(s) of retail and/or merchandising experience with exposure to assortment planning, store operations, project management and/or communications
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; regularly influences, makes recommendations and persuades key stakeholders, including those in more senior levels
  • Understanding of key merchandising and crossfunctional retail processes and accountabilities associated with Assortment Decisions (line review, assortment planning, sourcing, space planning, supply chain, pricing, quality, packaging)
  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to build effective teams, develop others and embrace innovative solutions that improve the performance of the team
  • Experienced in working with digital communications and assets to deliver a visually inspiring and informative communication package that helps our associate dealers order product assortments
  • Strategic thinking in ambiguous environment with the ability to formulate actions and work plans beyond the day to day
  • Action oriented attitude to solve operational issues (tradeoffs on short vs. long term solutions and ensuring optimal dealer ordering experience)
  • Intermediate to advanced Word / PowerPoint skills as well as Excel (specifically use of pivot tables and V lookups)
