    Posting Summary Competition Number F18684P Position Title Instructor (Marketing) - School of Tourism Management Employee Group Faculty Position Status Regular Part-Time Position Type Instructor Special Appointee Others please specify Workload Amount 4 Department Tourism Management Additional Notes Location North Vancouver What you'll do The School of Tourism Management is looking for a dynamic tourism marketing professional who can teach various marketing courses and topics, including but not limited to, marketing basics, integrated marketing communications and applied digital marketing strategies.

    The content of marketing courses is designed to develop current and relevant skills for student success and enable students to develop marketing plans, integrated marketing communications strategies, and demonstrate digital marketing techniques and strategies that are key to effectively communicating a tourism business or destination brand and engaging with customers.

    This role is expected to be able to teach in all levels of our programs, from 1st year to 4th year, while engaging domestic and international students in the programs, content, and industry.

    In addition, regular faculty members are leaders within the department and are expected to be active in the development of curriculum, programs, and partnerships that enhance the brand and student experience.

    Course outlines and access to materials are provided but it is expected that the instructor will continue to build on existing course content to include topical and relevant resources, experiences, and examples.

    The instructor will also meet with faculty who teach complementary courses to ensure progression of student learning.

    What you'll bring Qualifications Required:

    • Masters in Tourism Management, or related fields.
    • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
    Preferred: · PhD in related field.· Relevant adult education training and/or qualifications such as the Provincial Instructors Diploma Instructional Skills Workshops.
    Industry Experiences and

    Competencies Required:

    • Applied experience and comprehensive knowledge of tourism marketing and current digital strategies.
    • The ability to engage students through a combination of theoretical content based and applied teaching methods.
    Preferred: · A record of teaching excellence at the post-secondary level.· Publication(s) on a relevant topic(s) or in related field(s).
