Accountabilities:


  • Semimonthly payroll processing for high volume multiprovincial centralized payroll function
  • Review timesheets to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Review and audit payroll reports for accuracy and identify, resolve or escalate any discrepancies
  • Processing new hires, employee changes, terminations & ROEs in payroll systems
  • System maintenance/administration duties associated payroll system (ADP)
  • Administration of the group benefit plan (new hires, changes & terminations)
  • Adhoc reporting as requested
  • Assist with year end reporting & T4 reconciliation
  • Coordinate with people & culture and other departments as required to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Maintain accurate employee and payroll records
  • Ensure internal clients are provided seamless, timely, and responsive service
  • Respond to external requests from government agencies

Qualifications:


  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation (PCP) or working towards
  • 3 years or more of full cycle payroll processing experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation and CRA rules and regulations pertaining to payroll
  • Payroll experience across multiple provinces
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • The ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show appropriate level of judgment
  • Strong sense of ethics and integrity
