Job Summary:

The Host/Hostess is responsible for warmly greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escorting them to their tables, and providing them with menus.

The Host/Hostess also manages the waiting list, keeps the dining area organized and clean, and provides excellent customer service to ensure a memorable dining experience for guests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with a warm and friendly smile as they enter the restaurant
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
  • Manage the waiting list, accurately estimating wait times, and notifying guests when their table is ready
  • Maintain an organized and clean dining area, including managing reservations, setting tables, and ensuring that the restaurant is wellstocked with supplies
  • Answer phone calls and take reservations in a polite and professional manner
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns, questions, and needs promptly and with a positive attitude
  • Collaborate with other frontofhouse and backofhouse staff to ensure efficient restaurant operations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
$15.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

  • Tips

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vaughan, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
