360°kids has been a leader in the delivery of innovative support services for over 30 years as we work to improve the lives of homeless and at-risk youth and families in York Region.

We are a vitally important community agency serving all of York Region.

At 360°kids, we provide a unique continuum of care approach with a range of programs and services that are essential to the health and well-being of youth and that are proven strategies for helping to keep youth off the streets by providing safe housing options.


Reporting to the Manager of Support Services, the Team Lead, YOUTHrive and Home Base Vaughan Programs will oversee the 360°kids Drop-In programs including day to day operations; oversee a diverse team of workers to deliver sound and innovative programming and care for at-risk youth; ensure key relationships with funders, community partners, and others having impact on the program; develop and facilitate/encourage an organizational culture conducive to the achievement of 360°kids' goals and objectives and works with staff to ensure program success while positively contributing to 360°kids as an organization.


The 360°kids YOUTHrive programs offer inclusive, enriched recreation and mentorship programming for the residents of (6) six housing co-operatives to support their social, emotional, physical and mental health needs.

The program offers a safe place for youth to debrief about their day with staff, connect and develop relationships with other youth in their community.

Through this program, children and youth will benefit from purposeful programming aimed to increase life skills, as well as, connect them and their families to resources within their communities.

Located in Vaughan at the Dufferin Clark Community Centre, Home Base Vaughan Youth Drop-In Centre serves the needs of youth aged Home Base supports youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness,


by providing them with food, clothing, counselling, recreation, employment support, education, life skills and connecting them with services to meet their needs.

This is a 5-month contractual role with the possibility of an extension.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the daytoday organization and operation of the YOUTHrive and Home Base Vaughan Drop-In Programs.
  • Work in consultation with Manager of Support Programs to select and facilitate activities aimed at achieving the desired outcomes of the program.
  • In conjunction with the Manager of Support Programs, provides leadership to the YOUTHrive and Home Base teams focusing on empowering employees; building and motivating of employees; managing for high performance and overseeing plans for the training, development, and retention of program staff.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection process of YOUTHrive and Home Base Vaughan staff Recruits and supervises volunteers and students.
  • Works with the Manager of Support Programs to ensure that the programs are in line with the stated mission and vision of the organization and reinforces the mission, vision and values to staff, volunteers, clients and partners.
  • Ensures that appropriate policies, procedures, and methods are being utilized.
  • Participates in the 360°kids' oncall rotation to provide support for staff and program operations outside of core hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) in emergency situations.
  • Complete all mandatory recording and reporting including daily documentation and statistical data collection.
  • Provides reports and related information as required to the Manager of Support Programs, other designated organizations, and appropriate regulatory agencies and ensures staff completes required recording and reporting.
  • In conjunction with the Manager of Support Programs, assists in the sound financial management and appropriate controls of the program's budget, and provides leadership to the team and direction with regard to financial management of the Programs budget.
  • With the assistance of the Manager of Support Programs monitors the program's finances and the development and implementation of actions plans, supports fundraising, as needed, to improve financial performance.
  • Positively represents 360°kids, YOUTHrive, and Home Base Vaughan, to the social service network, regulators, the general public, peers, staff, partners, ministry officials and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with participants, community partners, agencies, donors, coworkers, and volunteers. Develops positive relations with the communities being served by the program and with the general public. Liaise with parents on issues of concern or relevance to their children.
  • Participates in regular supervision meetings and performance appraisal meetings on a semiannual basis. Attends training workshops and relevant conferences that pertain to the role.
  • Other duties as required.
