Position Summary
An exciting opportunity exists in our Corporate Division in Toronto, for a Coordinator, Treasury.


The purpose of this position is to support the Treasury team in Treasury and Insurance activities with the main focus on Cash, Foreign Exchange and Bank Account Management.


Accountabilities

  • Prepare daily cash forecast, including buy and selling investments while maintaining compliance with the shortterm investment policy
  • Update Short Term Investment Portfolio, Investment Transaction Log, Global Liquidity Position file with data from the Business Units and previous day's account balances for Sherritt and its subsidiaries.
  • Execute FX trades as requested, distribute daily foreign exchange rates
  • Liaise with corporate banks and divisions for banking transactions, wire transfers, cheque deposits, foreign drafts request, and borrowing or repayment notices.
  • Setup vendor wire and bill payment templates on banking platform
  • Assist with user administration (setups, password resets) and other bank administration (opening and closing of accounts, update signatory lists, audit confirmations)
  • Prepare all necessary documents to open or maintain bank accounts, update bank signatory lists, and maintain database for all accounts of Sherritt and its subsidiaries
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly compliance documents to Loan Agent
  • Update Loan Schedules at the end of the month and distribute after it has been reviewed by Treasury Manager
  • Update monthly FX rates, Commodity Prices, Interest Rates and Financial prices
  • Initiate wire transfers electronically. Ensure that the correct Delegation of Authority before payments are executed and ensure that funds transfer is compliant with the Funds Transfer Policy.
  • Provide weighted average share price calculation to the Accounting and HR Departments when needed.
  • Arrange for preparation and pickup of foreign Drafts/Money Orders for amounts under $5,000 for Sherritt and other Business Units. Scan copies of drafts to Business Units and mail drafts to vendors with copies of invoices to ensure proper credit of payment.
  • Ensure that deposits of incoming cheques are made for Sherritt and some Subsidiaries and copies of deposit slips and cheques are given to the Accounting Department.
  • Liaise with the bank and business units to solve questions/problems concerning wire transfers/payments and Bank Accounts
  • Ensure that all invoices are paid in a timely manner and amounts are allocated to each BU for the Accounting Department to charge back.
  • Download and retain all policies in the shared Insurance drive
  • Assist with other requests as needed by the insurance broker or business units

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or degree in business or a related field is a requirement
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role is an asset
  • General understanding of cash and foreign exchange management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Time management skills, and ability to prioritize
