The product lines of the figurines at McFarlane can vary between 3-13 inches cm) in height and between 5 and 22 points of articulation All its craftsmen must ensure the best balance between the aesthetics-functionality-cost of all its products.
DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
McFarlane Toys Canada is looking for a Full Time (40 hours) in-person painter for its physical prototypes. The painter is responsible for providing support with colorization to the product design team. We are looking for someone who has a passion for painting figurines.
- Work with referenced materials, color guides and design briefs;
- Create paint master for 3 inches figures to large scale resin with high detail level, which will provide a clear and precise direction for commercial manufacturing;
- Create a paint chart with swatches for the factory to follow;
- Review deco samples from the factory;
- Retouch paint samples from the factory for licensor approval;
- Create water decals for production;
- Ability to learn, adapt quickly and integrate the cost component into your painting process;
- Understand the reality of the limitations of production costs;
- Be able to work well in a team environment and be able to accept criticism well;
- Participate in team meetings, master your work and collaborate crossfunctionally to deliver projects on time;

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Degree in industrial design, product design or fine arts or equivalent experience;
- Knowledge of Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop) is an asset;
- Skills and abilities in airbrush retouching is an asset;
- Knowledge of Zbrush, Blender and/or Keyshot is a plus;
- Knowledge in 3D/digital painting a plus
- Skilled in product photography is a plus;
- Autonomous, good problemsolving, time management and analysis skills;
- Demonstrates accountability and manages stress well;
- Proactivity, sense of initiative and sense of urgency;
- Positive attitude and good sense of humor;
- Good communicator and collaborator, able to interact closely with multiple collaborators;
- Curious by nature and a fan of POP culture;
- Bilingual (French
- English) is an asset
