The Transportation Control Tower Manager supports and facilitate the transformation of Alstom transportation organization in line with the Supply Chain strategy.
You manage the relationship and contract with key strategic provider(s) and you drive transformation initiatives:
- Lead the Transportation Control Tower strategy and deployment
- Lead the governance established between Alstom and the transportation service provider
- Maintain and sustain the Transportation performance scorecard both in terms of the quality of the services and costs
- Supports strategic programs, projects and network studies for the Transportation organization to achieve AT operational objectives
- Drive consistency in process, systems & data across AT Sites
- Facilitate communication towards internal and external stakeholders
- Team management
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
You lead the Transportation Control Tower strategy and deployment Sourcing Strategy
- Define areas of opportunities for Transport Control Towers services (regions, sites, suppliers )
- Manage relationship with Sites using TCT services; run regular feedback sessions to continuously develop scope of services and improve customer satisfaction
- Express requirements and specifications with regards to IS&T tools and development
- Document requirements and specifications with regards to scope of services for Transportation Provider(s); actively participate in RFPs for transportation services and business award in collaboration with Indirect Procurement
- Contribute actively to the definition and implementation of the Indirect Sourcing strategy for the Transportation commodity (overseas, road, rail, parcels )
- Participate in Suppliers Performance and Business reviews (monthly / quarterly per Suppliers governance model)
- Be second escalation point for operational issues raised by Alstom Sites after Vendor Managers
- Implement and maintain standard KPIs (ontime pickup and delivery, transport in/out per vehicle, truck fillrate, cost per kg per shipment );
- Understand reporting needs and design reports that provide stakeholders with accurate measurements of their business drivers
- Design robust data collection system (from AT systems and/ or external parties); maintain data repository
- Ensure timely and accurate update of performance dashboard and reports
- Monitor cost performance vs Budget; identify cost drivers, analyse deviations and propose action plans
- Contribute in design and continuous improvement of Transportation metrics
- Drive process analysis for harmonization across Sites and across Functions (Supply Chain, Indirect Procurement, Finance, )
- Maintain documentation of Transportation processes using Operational Excellence tools (VSM, SIPOC)
- Identify best practice with regards to performance as well as process efficiency
- Analyse performance, identify opportunities for improvement and propose corrective actions or improvement plans
- Run network studies aimed at improving AT Transportation network, decreasing Total Cost and Delivery leadtimes
- Develop TCT services via REX and sharing best practices
- Contribute with transportation cost models to Supply Chain TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for endtoend business cases and optimization of material flows
- Provide a longterm vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets, support and coach in achieving these targets and objectives, perform performance appraisals, set and follow up team members development plans and induction program for new comers
- Coach and support team members
- Anticipate and plan workload; align activity and projects across team members based on workload and complexity; anticipate resources needed to manage business trends (up/ down)
- Contribute to HR initiatives : Company Policy, Jobs & Competences, Training & Qualification, staffing & organization
MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- University degree in international transport or supply chain field
- Fluent in English
