We have secured a grant through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Participants must be
between the ages of and meet the requirements under the grant. If you are interested in

NexSource Recreation Centre - Program Leader
**Seasonal - June 26, August 25, 2023

30 Hours Per Week (primarily daytime with occasional evenings &weekends)
**Starting Wage - $17.54
The Program Leader is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing high quality
programs and camps with an emphasis on high energy, enthusiasm and creativity.

**RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide a high level of customer service including greeting and engaging participants and

their families.

  • Plan, organize and deliver high quality, safe and stimulating recreation, art and culture
programs for all ages of participants.

  • Complete all administrative duties, report all concerns and incidents to immediate
supervisor for follow up and take appropriate actions.

  • Interact directly with and encourage interaction with participants.
  • Maintain complete vigilance on duty and serve as part of the emergency response team.
  • Create and maintain a positive atmosphere that builds positive selfesteem and

- confidence in participants
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff and property by following Town of
Sylvan Lake standards/policies/procedures and ensuring they are maintained amongst all
members and staff.

**QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum 16 years of age

  • Experience facilitating recreation, arts & culture programs
  • Experience working with children, youth and families in a recreational setting
  • Experience running Day Camps & Summer Camps
  • Leader In Training Program (asset)
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR
