QUALIFICATIONS

  • The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual fulltime incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2024 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU Collective Agreement
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse education program.
  • Eligible for active practicing licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse with applicable regulatory body in the province of Manitoba
  • Three (3) years within the past five (5) years experience in an education teaching role preferred.
  • Previous experience with use of EPR, and or completed required requisite PMH EPR LMS and in class training is an asset.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG00002 CPR Training
  • Demonstrated experience and competence using clinical information systems and working with information technology as it applies to the healthcare environment.
  • Ability to teach at an individual and group level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position

***: The Regional Specialty Instructor acts as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and functions under the vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of Prairie Mountain Health. The Regional Specialty Instructor facilitates and educates prepared material as designed by the Clinical Educator Team to required staff of PMH.


The Licensed Practical Nurse recognized and fulfills their Professional responsibilities by practicing within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act, the approved College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) Scope of Practice and Entry-Level Competencies, provincial and federal legislation and within the guidelines of professional ethics.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Overview:


  • Works with Clinical Education Team to become familiar with content to be delivered to staff.
  • Educates staff as outlined by the Clinical Education Team.
  • Communicates with, reports to and consults with the Care Team Manager of Clinical Education on a regular basis to fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
