    Description

    Your Opportunity at Arc'teryx

    Your Opportunity at Arc'teryx

As the Sr. Manager, Merchandising Men – EMEA, you are responsible for shaping and delivering the regional merchandising strategy and go-to-market execution across Retail, Ecommerce, and Wholesale channels in EMEA.

You act as a key regional merchandising leader, partnering closely with both local EMEA commercial teams and Global teams in Vancouver to ensure regional consumer needs, market insights, and commercial priorities are effectively translated into seasonal assortments and execution plans.

You partner with our Merchandise Planning and Allocations (MP&A), Visual Merchandising and Commercial teams to align your category product strategies with the overall global merchandising direction, and you support our company goals by focusing on local consumer needs and brand opportunities to bring innovative solutions to market.

This role can be based in one of our main Epicenters: Garching (Munich), Paris or London, with a preference for Munich. Candidates must be eligible to work in the country.

    Meet Your Future Team

The Merchant team is responsible for delivering regional, seasonal product assortments that resonate with our local and international EMEA guests and support the overall Design creative direction and the global merchandising strategy. In partnership with the Global Product Line Management (PLM) team, Merchants drive category-level sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals across both wholesale and vertical channels.

This high-performing team works closely with the Commercial, Global Product Line Management team (GPLM), Regional Marketing, Regional VM, Regional Merchandise Planning and Allocations (MP&A) teams to create future seasonal line plans and to maximize in-season sales performance.

Core activities you would be doing

    • Understanding the Consumer & the Market
    • Researching and analyzing the regional marketplace, identifying key consumer and market insights to inform concept development, product creation, and assortment decisions.
    • Conducting regular market visits, at least quarterly, to gather consumer, competitive, and retail insights.
    • Owning Your Categories & Driving Regional Strategy
    • Building 1–2-year merchandising strategies for your Men's categories, aligned to the EMEA regional vision
    • Translating strategy into seasonal assortments that balance consumer needs, brand intent, and commercial goals.
    • Providing clear category frameworks that guide execution across retail, wholesale, and digital.
    • Leading End‑to‑End Commercial Execution
    • Owning category performance — sales, margin, and inventory productivity — in partnership with MP&A and Commercial teams.
    • Creating strategic seasonal selling plans (grow, hold, diminish, exit, launch) and managing sell‑in vs. sell‑through dynamics.
    • Reviewing category performance with Regional Commercial leadership and driving actionable recommendations.
    • Working Through Partnership, Not Hierarchy
    • Collaborating closely with Senior Merchants, MP&A, and Visual Merchandising to ensure aligned, cross‑functional execution, with a focus on execution excellence and capability building.
    • Influencing global GPLM by bringing clear EMEA insights, needs, and constraints into global line planning.
    • Partnering with Design, Development, EMEA Brand Marketing, and Colour to bring seasonal strategies to life across all channels.
    • Partnering with the Planning team to create strategic seasonal selling plans, including plans to grow, diminish, hold, exit, and launch product categories, as well as managing sell‑through vs. sell‑in dynamics
    • Elevating the Merchandising Function
    • Supporting and mentoring Merchants through partnership and capability building — not formal management.
    • Delivering clear, compelling product and assortment presentations for key seasonal milestones.
    • Acting with Integrity
    • Upholding Fair Labor Association standards and responsible sourcing principles throughout the supply chain.

    Future opportunities

    • Exploring new product categories, concept and extensions within the Men's portfolio to help round out the complete mountain kit for our local guests
    • Maximizing the efficiency and profitability of category assortments across Ecommerce, WHSL, and retail distribution points, ensuring clear assortment clusters, channel differentiation, and commercial clarity
    • Partnering regional cross-functionally to shape retail merchandising strategy and lead regional go-to-market execution, including building and refining product calendars, stage gates, seasonal milestones, and retail readiness to successfully bring products to market

Are you our next Sr. Manager, Merchandising Men – EMEA?

    • You have 5+ years in Outdoor, Sports, or Premium Retail with hands‑on merchandising, buying, and commercial decision‑making across DTC and/or Wholesale.
    • You strongly understand European retail markets and can turn consumer and trend insights into commercial strategies.
    • You are fluent in retail math — sell‑through, margin, COGs, OTB, inventory, and data‑driven decisions.
    • You communicate clearly, present confidently, and stay highly organized across multiple priorities.
    • You lead through influence and collaboration, not authority — especially with Senior Merchants, MP&A, and VM.
    • You think strategically, execute pragmatically, and have contributed to multi‑year category or business strategies.
    • You know the outdoor and active apparel market and the activities our products serve.
    • You are willing to travel for trade shows, dealer meetings, market visits and, willing to travel to Global HQ- Vancouver, Canada on a fixed cadence (4 round trips per year to Vancouver to participate in key meetings).
    • You proactively identify risks and issues, diagnose root causes, and develop actionable solutions
    • You are adaptable and resilient when operating in ambiguous or evolving environments
    • You balance autonomy with collaboration and know when to escalate or align
    • You inspire continuous improvement and operational excellence
    • You pursue the best solutions with integrity, even when they are not the easiest path
    • You are passionate about your work and equally passionate about getting outside and living it
