  • The District of West Vancouver is looking to hire casual Facilities Maintenance Worker I's.

This position is responsible for:
- performing a variety of cleaning and custodial duties a Community Services facility;
- routine maintenance and repair of ice making and swimming pool equipment;
- performing minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs not requiring trade certification;
- operating and maintaining the building heating system not requiring provincial heating certification;
- operating Direct Digital Control Systems;
- monitoring geothermal heat pump and aquatic pool systems; and,
- other related duties as required.


To be considered, applicants must have: completion of the 12th school grade supplemented by related technical courses at a vocational institute, plus some related experience in building maintenance operation and preferably a Pool Operator's and/or Refrigeration Operator Certificate OR an equivalent combination of training and experience ; and availability to work daytime hours on weekdays; a current BC Class 5 Driver's License and BC Safety Authority Refrigeration Safety Awareness Certificate.

Hours and days of work may vary


Rate of Pay:
$29.20 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits.


This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase based on the number of hours worked in the position.
