Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Carpet Cleaner maintains and cleans common area carpets at various residential and commercial properties of Edison Properties.

These tasks will include carpet cleaning (shampooing and deep cleaning) with supplied carpet cleaner and maintenance of tools and equipment as required.

The ability to operate equipment safely and to complete assigned work orders, task and duty assignments is part of their responsibilities as is meeting company standards for the assigned tasks.

Good time management, organizational and communication skills are required.

Main Responsibilities

Perform Work in accordance within legislated and company specific safety regulations

Safely operates and maintains tools
Wears safety equipment while working (steel toed shoes, hard hat, safety vest)
Inspects facility and tests equipment as required
Reports any unsafe conditions to the Safety Coordinator
Ensures the safety of tenants and coworkers at all times
In occupied suites, protects tenant belongings as per Company guidelines

Completion of Work Orders

Completes work orders as assigned through the Work Order system
Follows standard operating procedures for completion of work orders ensuring that quality and service are achieved
Follows guidelines for respectful and positive interactions with tenants, Resident Managers and Property Managers
Cleans up supplies when duties are completed keeping areas clean as work is done

Carpet Cleaning and Maintenance

Maintains carpets in common areas of the Edison properties
Operates, maintains and cleans equipment used to perform cleaning and maintenance of carpets.

Reporting

Use of purchase order system to request supplies/tools/equipment

Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Valid Class 5 Driver's License, Clear Driver's Abstract and access to a personal vehicle are required.
Position may require time commitments outside normal hours of work to accomplish duties in particular during periods of heavy work requirements
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector is required
Ability to stand or walk all day along with ability to lift up to 50 kg
