Description
Purchase merchandise for resale by wholesale division

  • Developing strategic purchasing initiatives
  • Maintain inventory levels and perform inventory analysis on product lines
  • Analyze and be proficient in margin calculations and inventory management
  • Coordinate and reconcile payment, vendor and return issues
  • Plan, source, procure and appropriate invoice reconciliation
  • Work with Trade Reps and Retailers to select merchandise
  • Research and recommend new products and new sources of supply
  • Establish, interview and consult with suppliers and other stake holders to assess
services and product needs as well as negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and

transportation arrangements

  • Work with operations to oversee distribution of merchandise to customers
  • Work with the other wholesale buyers to support company objectives
  • Communicate with sales and administrative team to ensure customer needs are being
met

  • Minimum 2 years purchasing experience
  • Knowledge of buying and pricing systems and other applicable programs for purchasing
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Advanced computer skills (including strong understanding of Canopy system, an asset)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve
  • Superior judgment and decisionmaking skills
  • Service and customer oriented with an established relationship with wholesale customer group(s)
  • Excellent math skills
  • Inventory management experience an asset

This is a salary position, wages to be determined based on experience
