Position Summary


The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day operations of the company's warehouse and logistics.

Working in conjunction with all areas of the organization, the Warehouse Manager will schedule and manage warehouse staff, create and implement strategic plans for development and reduce overhead, create and manage purchase orders, and oversee and enforce health and safety compliance and organization in the warehouse.


This position is comprised of an average 40-hour work week with the expectation that hours will be flexible and overtime may occur.

This position is split between our main office and at events venues in-person/onsite.


Job Duties

Warehouse & Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage the day to day operations of the warehouse
  • Schedule and manage the working days and hours of all department heads and warehouse workers
  • Manage and enforce health & safety in the warehouse
  • Ensure proper breaks and schedules are followed and enforced
  • Manage unreturned equipment reports
  • Create and manage warehouse tasks lists for events, logistics, and warehouse duties with appropriate timelines
  • Maintain a strong system of organization and oversee the maintenance of all warehouse items
  • Ensure that inspection forms and daily reports are completed and submitted
  • Provide coaching and progressive discipline as required to employees working under your supervision
  • Create and manage strategic plans, structures, and procedures for company growth
  • Reduce operational costs where applicable to generate higher revenue for the company

Administration

  • Meet regularly with the Logistics Manager to review event logistics requirements
  • Meet regularly with the Inventory Manager to review event inventory requirements and new inventory
  • Meet regularly with the Rentals Manager to review rental requirements and new purchase orders
  • Assist with the creation and management of company purchase orders
  • Track all labour costs for P&L
  • Ensure that monthly expenses are managed and submitted
  • Create and organize reporting data for department growth

General

  • Provide and maintain a positive relationship with all clients, vendors, employees, and independent contractors through effective communication
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Comply with company, industry, and legislative health & safety policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Attend company meetings as required
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
  • Maintain a cooperative and sensitive teamwork attitude when dealing with clients
  • Participate in the rotation of Warehouse Manager on Duty schedule
  • Other duties as required by company

Requirements:


  • Postsecondary education in event production, event management, warehouse management, or equivalent training
  • 7+ years experience in warehouse management, production management, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment in a live event environment
  • Proficiency with the use of computer hardware, software, and programs, including the Internet, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
  • Ability to communicate orally and written at a professional working proficiency level or greater in the English language
  • Extensive experience creating schedules
  • Experience booking and managing labour, and managing teams
  • Ability to adapt to new technology
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Strong negotiation skills with clients and vendors
  • CAD experience and skills is an asset
  • Experience using Flex Rental Solutions software is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience of Lasso Crew Management Software is an asset
  • Knowledge of current workplace health & safety regulations, fire & building codes, and AODA regulations in relation to the live entertainment industry is an asset
  • Forklift training and certification is an asset
  • Working At Heights and MEWP training and certification is an asset
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle is an asset
  • Commercial truck driving experience upto 26' box truck (5ton) is an asset
