Fusion Production Systems Inc., a growing, well-established fabrication facility in Red Deer requires an Intermediate Accountant to join their team.

Reporting to the VP Operations, the Project Manager will primarily provide project management for a variety of projects across the organization.

This job has a starting salary of $65,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience and starts June 17, 2024.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Develop timelines, plans and budgets, accountabilities and project flow charts. Identify resource requirements, and project constraints, using appropriate planning tools.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Manage and coordinate the execution of specific projects from concept, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, to finalization and closure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve breakdown in project timelines or execution.
  • Develop and deliver status reports on a timely basis.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project to ensure successful adoption of the business solution.

Project Management Development

  • Work to provide managers with the necessary skills to participate in and to execute properly managed projects.
  • Provide project management programming and education to foster a project management focus across the organization.
  • Look for projects and project management opportunities that will enhance the efficiency of all aspects of the company's operations.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations in the final Project Close report leveraging successful and unsuccessful project lessons learned.

Other Responsibilities
Report on the progress of projects and on the growth of project management expertise across the company.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Industry recognized certification in Project Management, with post certification experience
  • At least 3 years of business project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree from postsecondary institution considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge in the trade considered an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Navision ERP experience considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills are required.
  • Experience working with technical financial solutions and working knowledge of accounting practices through education or hands on experience.
  • A sound knowledge of project management principles.
  • The ability to work effectively either individually or within a team environment.

  • Initiative and the ability to selfstart/manage.
  • Resultsoriented focus: Completes tasks efficiently with regard to priorities and schedules.

Work Conditions and Demands

  • Work will involve time pressure and multiple demands and projects.
  • Ability to negotiate and defuse tension in a goal oriented, complex, project environment.
  • Ability to deal with project issues and risks through the use of proven methods and strong management capability.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment.
  • Certain environments will present the expected risks and hazards. (Safety footwear required; all additional PPE will be provided).

Pay:
$65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
