Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Technician supports all administrative aspects of human resources, including recruitment, training, maintaining employee files and providing information concerning human resources.
Essential Duties:
- Will manage payroll for all employees every two (2) weeks.
- Make monthend and yearend entries for human resources.
- Remitting contributions from the pension fund, the union and the group insurance company.
- Act as a resource person and maintain data in the MPower integrated system (Workday);
- Participate in the hiring process.
- Onboard new employees by introducing them to the terms and conditions of employment.
- Greet visitors, ensure security screening at the reception, and maintain access control records.
- Open, sort and distribute mail.
- Compose/translate various documents.
- Follow up on disability files (OHS and personal absences).
- Update the training plan in accordance with Bill 90.
- Prepare reports for managers.
- Participate in the organization of various social activities.
- Maintain various lists (seniority, telephone, etc.).
- All other tasks related to the performance of his/her duties.

Education and Experience Preferred:
- AEC in Human Resources, Accounting or any other training deemed relevant.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources, payroll, accounting, or other relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred
- Good knowledge of MS office suite.
- Must be bilingual in both French and English is essential (written and oral).
- Knowledge of the unionized manufacturing sector (asset).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Rigor, discipline, discretion and meticulousness.
- Good organizational and priority management skills.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.
- Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
- Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
