    Description

    We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Apprentice Welder to support operations with manufacturing steel brackets at the Nisku shop.

    • Responsibilities

  • Interpret welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual welding equipment.
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment.
  • Operate metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air, AOC).
  • Determine weldability of materials.
  • Select filler rods.
  • Perform post welding heat treatment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Prepare jigs or set-ups for welding.
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.

    • Qualifications

  • 1st year apprentice or willing to become indentured as a welding apprentice.
  • Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Reliable transportation to Nisku.
  • Previous experience in a welding shop or in a manufacturing setting is an asset.

    • Hours of Work
    Hours of work may vary with a regular working schedule of Monday through Friday from 6AM to 4PM. Overtime and weekend work may be required from time to time.

    ***Pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fit for work testing is required***
