    What you'll do
    It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

    • This position is accountable for preparing journal entries, complex accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of TJX financial statements. This position informally supports junior associates and partners cross-functionally with various business partners on reporting and analysis.
    • Prepares and consolidates financial statements and supporting schedules (i.e. P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in support of areas such as Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.
    • Ensures all transactions are accounted for in accordance with GAAP and performs SOX Controls.
    • Identifies and implements opportunities for operational improvement and efficiencies.
    • Prepares monthly and quarterly review packages for Senior Management by compiling the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and other reporting as required.
    • Develops financial forecasts, annual budgets, and supports the development of long-range plans through strong partnerships and input from various business areas; maintains cross-functional business partnerships to monitor expenses, investigate variances, and increase visibility by providing financial support via trend analysis, enhanced reporting, and ad-hoc reporting.
    • Participates in special projects/presentations to management (i.e. annual true-ups) and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

    What you'll need
    To begin your career with us, we require the following:

    • A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Accounting, Audit, or related Financial experience.
    • A post-secondary education in a related field (i.e. Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics); CPA designation or in-progress designation is considered an asset.
    • Previous experience in the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statement analysis.
    • Ability to identify, organize, and analyze data using multiple databases and spreadsheets; strong analytical ability.
    • Strong spreadsheet management and financial modelling capabilities within Microsoft Excel; capable of manipulating large sets of data from multiple data sources.
    • Intermediate-level computer skills in other Microsoft applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access) is required; experience utilizing Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle, OneStream, and/or SAP is considered an asset.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and interpret information accurately, build relationships with internal and external partners and effectively respond to inquires or escalate issues as required.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately manage highly sensitive information.
