Title:
Administrative Assistant - Three (3) month contract
Based at: 9 Napoleon Road - Barrie, Ontario
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Administrative Assistant is accountable to provide administrative support to the Research and Development department


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Organize general department daily operations, provide clerical assistance, computer software support as necessary, Creation of presentations using PowerPoint, Excel
  • Work with the project coordinator to create and maintain all major projects on MS Project
  • Prepare approval packages necessary for product approvals and certification, update and distribute approval lists
  • Maintain drawing files and engineering binders
  • Control inventory movement out of department
  • Take and maintain meeting minutes
  • Maintain SR-ED report, Maintain Hearth Product information spreadsheet
  • Review and create any necessary forms for department
  • Research topics, products, suppliers and standards, Research the most cost effective item, task or supplier
  • Administration of MS Project, Test Agency Sites
  • Backup for label, barcode, manual, leaflet, rafting plate creation
  • Maintain office equipment

Education and Experience:


  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration or other relevant discipline
  • Three years' experience in a related industry
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite CS4 or higher; Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent organizational skills
