Summary
Zest Communities / St. Elizabeth Village is looking for individuals to build and maintain gardens, parks and other outdoor landscapes. Duties include ensuring plant growth, cleaning outdoor facilities, and trimming overgrown hedges.

This position will act as support for maintenance and other support staff.

Additional seasonal worker such as snow removal and salting ice through the overnight or early morning so our sites can be as safe as possible for residents and employees.

Responsibilities

General maintenance of buildings and homes within the community
Ensure exterior property is kept in a safe and attractive manner
Investigate residents' concerns and report findings to the office
Manage safety, quality, and productivity of work at sites and/or in the shop/yard
Meet with subcontractors to supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to delegate and complete work activities
Assist in preparing job sites prior to starting projects
Assist in construction of walkways, fences, decks, etc.
Operate various tools and equipment, including heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovel, hammers, etc.
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
Complete and submit required daily paperwork
Ensure all work activities are carried out safely and efficiently, and in compliance with government and company
Teach others' skills and knowledge to excel in their positions
PPE standards as well as local health and safety laws and regulations
Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Perform both major and minor repair work around the buildings and homes with the community including but not limited to; attic, venting and roof inspections, drywall repairs, cleaning of Eavestrough, eavestrough repair etc.
Adjust grading of yards, install drainage tiles and mitigate water damage throughout the property
Perform general maintenance to mechanical systems of buildings
Collect waste and ensure proper waste management procedures are carried out
Maintain overall condition of the buildings and grounds, ensuring all debris is removed and site is kept in attractive manner
Perform inspection of the premises and ensure that any hazardous conditions are immediately taken care of, or reported appropriately
Perform snow removal duties with focus on quality and timely execution.
Collaboration with other crew members in snow removal process
Answer oncalls regarding snow fall and timely removal of such
Salting Ice
May be asked to assist with construction or remodelling projects during down time
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to adapt readily to rapid and changing environment
Exceptional teamwork skills
Ability to deal with others effectively
Ability to deal with fast paced environment

Requirements:

Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
Covid19 vaccination proof
Min. of 2 years' experience in a landscaping or groundskeeping role.
Must be able to operate maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers
High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Goo stamina and physical health
Valid G Driver's License and Clean Drivers Abstract
Ability to read, write, speak English
