- Cultivate and uphold a strong safety culture for all staff, vendors, and customers by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and address workplace hazards promptly.
- Support the Estimating Manager, peers, and Supervisor Proposals in the tendering phase of projects.
- Prepare accurate and well-organized estimates and project set-up documents, including bids, construction management, design builds, and cost estimates.
- Review drawings and specifications.
- Issue requests for quotes or subcontractor proposals, evaluate submissions, and participate in site walkthroughs and meetings.
- Aid in developing project budgets and change order pricing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating power transmission & distribution projects in Canada.
- Education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, ASCT, Business, or a Journeyman Trade Certification is a plus.
- Skilled in negotiation.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Bluebeam, and Adobe. Knowledge of HCSS Estimating Software is a bonus.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience in interpreting plans and specifications for Power Transmission and Distribution projects.

DESCRIPTION
As the Estimator Power reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating RFP/Tender specifications and drawings, ensuring all necessary information is gathered to submit successful proposals. Collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and vendors to maintain competitive pricing is crucial. Additionally, you will support Project Management teams during project handoff and startup phases. Key qualities for this role include the ability to take direction, work autonomously, manage time efficiently, pay attention to detail, and present concise reports to Senior Management.
