Print Procurement Project Manager manages all stages of printed client communication procurement and monitors the product through our valued partners. They are viewed as a knowledgeable resource for the sourcing and management of print projects within their area of expertise.
Overview:
The
-
Print Procurement Project Manager will be responsible for managing the overall procurement of a project including effective, timely and appropriate supplier selection, project estimating, procurement, and production coordination to achieve specific objectives.
This position is responsible for analyzing job specifications and determining the best way to produce the product, qualifying the specifications, managing the procurement decisions, and the overall project management of the supply chain from production, finishing, kitting/insertion to delivery to the customer.
They will provide timely and accurate estimating service that meets SLA requirements and delights the customer ensuring quality and on time delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works with approved suppliers and internal stakeholders to make sound buying decisions which drive increased client value, high customer satisfaction and enhanced margin.
- Reviews job specifications for full understanding of the project.
- Provides timely and accurate estimating service that meets SLA requirements and delights the customer.
- Determines potential suppliers to quote jobs (on appropriate technology / presses).
- Reviews production plan for approval.
- Manages the quote and award process.
- Manages margins on procurement to ensure that we meet and exceed company's and client's expectations regarding cost savings and profitability.
- Supports the achievement of productivity improvements through managing buying decisions which drive innovation in, and consolidation of buy.
- Analyzes proof(s) for content, production challenges and concerns.
- Is a technical resource for the CS Advisors team, internal and thirdparty suppliers providing validation on specifications.
- Stays current with production methods being used by outside suppliers along with their capabilities and limitations.
Qualifications:
- University degree or applicable postsecondary / technical diploma (i.e., Supply Chain Mgmt., Logistics or Graphic Communications)
- Minimum 12 years print industry experience in the purchasing/procurement field
- Developing knowledge of workflow and estimating software
- Developing purchasing skills; industry accreditation training
- Relationship building skills
- Problem solving skills
- Developing IT skills, possesses an ability to use existing and new technologies
- Ability to prioritize and ensure logistics execution of tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Recognizing and communicating key information
- Able to operate effectively in a virtual team environment.
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time
- PMAC courses or other relevant industry accreditation training a plus
