Distribution Supervisor (Full-Time) - Delta, BC - Salary Range $70,000 - $85,000

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Consistently puts safety at the forefront of all daily activities and ensures that all staff adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all Distribution operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all external regulatory agencies including Transport Canada, Health Canada, WCB, CVSE as well as Linde policies and procedures.
  • Supervise personnel on a fair and consistent basis in order to help foster an atmosphere where employees are motivated, informed and empowered to do their jobs.
  • Manage employee activities in conjunction with Company policies and procedures, introduce best practices into the daily distribution operation.
  • Timely and accurately complete all required reports which may include cylinder inventories, expenses, financial reports, KPI reporting, Maintenance Work Orders, CVI inspections etc.
  • Provide leadership and direction for daytoday operations over the distribution team to meet demand of both internal and external employees.
  • Lead reliability, compliance and/or environmental regulations to ensure that targets are met.
  • Ensure team is fully trained in, committed to, and conducts their activities in accordance with all aspects of Linde SHEQ requirements.
  • Coordinate all quality and safety training for distribution employees and maintain personnel files with required records.
  • Identify issues and leads improvement plans in our distribution processes, shift schedules, overtime levels, training etc while reporting all activities to local management.
  • Manage and escalate equipment and vehicle issues as necessary.
  • Identify ways to reduce distribution operating costs through the incorporation of Operation Excellence Strategies. Track and report any productivity improvements.
  • Continuously strives for bestinclass performance and process improvements and leads efforts for new projects that drive region success and results.
  • Responsible for productivity initiatives: Overtime reduction, route optimization, courier negotiations etc.
  • Takes a lead by example approach by training, coaching, and providing day to day direction of the team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Work with National Distribution Team to ensure trucks are maintained to company standards and meet deadlines for maintenance completion on all delivery trucks and trailers.
  • Develops and implements optimum routing schedule and/or works with the Distribution Planning team to ensure all daily routes are covered and achieve maximum efficiency.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' Distribution Fleet/ Route management Preferred.
  • 2+ years managing and developing employees required.
  • Experience working and/or managing in a union environment preferred.
  • Strong Problem solving and decisionmaking skills with a proved ability to multitask.
  • Experience with Roadnet, Accustar, JDE, Excel and Microsoft Suite an asset
  • Experience with TDG / Transport Canada regulations required.
