Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA):
- Job Duties
Job Duties - Ability to work with vulnerable populations and as part of a team.
- Serve as the point of contact for prospective, applicant, and admitted students and caregiver questions about Accessibility Services.
- Organization of Accessibility Services events/outreach activities based on data (e.g., the Easy Start Transition Workshop).
- Timely follow up with students on missing information for disability grant funding (in person and virtually).
- Make appropriate internal referrals for Accessibility students (e.g., to Counselling, Learning Services, etc.).
- Work directly with Apprentices requiring Academic Accommodations on the PA campus to facilitate those accommodations in various ways.
- Support academic accommodation for additional programs as needed.
- Support students, directly, with navigating our online booking system, Accommodate.
- Academic Program outreach.
- Ability to work with instructors, program heads, and other services areas within Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
- Proactively researches external supports, services, and resources students with disabilities can access in their community if needed.
- Running various created reports within Accommodate for outreach and statistical purposes.
- QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
- Postsecondary Diploma in a related field (education, special education, social work, psychology, disability worker, etc.) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities, preferably adults in an educational setting.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Knowledgeable of the Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LAFOIP), Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Saskatchewan Human Rights Code and Adult Guardianship and Co-Decision Making Act.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience working with people who are distressed and those who have communication difficulties.
- Must have an understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of students with disabilities.
- Able to work with highly confidential medical information.
- Demonstrated valuing diversity.
