We are a well-established company with 20+ years in the industry and locations worldwide looking for an experienced HR Assistant to join our team based out in Delta,BC


Job purpose / Title
The HR Assistant/ Receptionist will be responsible for human resources job responsibilities, reception area and administrative duties.


Direct reports
Reports directly to Human Resources Manager.


Duties and responsibilities
Key duties will include, but not limited to the following:

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Onboarding duties: Orientation for new employees, in person or virtual for remote employees.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and placement of employees within the company worldwide locations.
  • Screening potential employees, determining suitability, and improving the hiring process.
  • Posting job openings in our different channels, gathering information on new applicants, creating new hire packages (hard copy and electronic version) according to new employees' checklist and follow up for any missing or incomplete document.
  • Data entry, updating or creating profiles for existing and new employees in our HRM system.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Works closely with JHSC.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Answers the phone and directs the calls to the appropriate manager, sales, or technical personnel
  • Takes and directs messages for calls that cannot be answered
  • Greeting the guests sign in guest on the database getting the guest sign the agreement
  • Ensures guests to sign in and out and receive a visitor's pass
  • Ensures meeting rooms and foyer area are clean and tidy
  • Scheduling General meetings on monthly basis.
  • Orders office supplies as needed.
  • Keeps track of electronics for the office (laptop, desktop, cellular phones etc.)
  • Prepares any signage in and around office as required.
  • Arranges shipping of samples and office items (equipment, tools etc.) either online or by phone.
  • Completes any required documentation for the shipments (shipping labels, commercial invoices).
  • Mailing out (as required/requested).
  • Checking mail daily & handing out the incoming mail.
  • Providing help to accounting with the shipping & supplies invoices (Sorted by department).
  • Filling.
  • Dealing with services like photocopier (Kopyr), cell phones (bell), main phone (grand stream), garbage/recycling (Maple Leaf Disposal), Fire Inspection (Van Fire), Security/alarm (keep safe), insurance (hub insurance), janitorial (little Avi's
  • Richmond, Top Notch
  • Delta).

Other duties as required

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Human Resources Management Certificate or Diploma required
  • High School required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the human resources department required
  • Minimum 2 years of office setting experience required
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written required
  • Advance Microsoft Office skills (365 as an asset) as an asset
  • Postsecondary Education as an asset

Working conditions
Work Conditions: 9am to 5pm (shifts Mondays to Fridays)


Additional requirements

  • Ability to be sitting for a long period of time.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada required

From $20.00 per hour
