As the Product Coordinator Insurance, you are a great communicator and networker. You bring a passion for the Agriculture industry.

You are a key contributor for ensuring that AFSC's products are ready to be delivered on time and the products remain relevant to our clients.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Plan, facilitate and report on Input Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Establish and maintain external networks to develop the background and experience required on an ongoing basis to be effective.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with industry, working with the Innovation Team to look for short, medium and longterm product improvements.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with colleagues in Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, Agriculture and AgriFood Canada, Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and Manitoba Agriculture Services Corporation.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with branch staff, particularly Team Leaders, to anticipate the issues and needs of clients and staff.
  • Clearly communicate AFSC policies regarding products to team members and client audiences.
  • Document and monitor product lifecycles ensuring products are scheduled for and are review at least once every five years.
  • Support and facilitate the development, monitoring, and analysis of stakeholder surveys for trends on products and their delivery.
  • Execute market research to identify industry trends and emerging issues in the agriculture sector that may impact the products and their delivery.
  • Formulate and make recommendations to management for product improvements and readiness through product reviews and stakeholder feedback.
  • Support and facilitate product changes and enhancements, overseeing the required approvals from management and stakeholders.
  • Design, develop and implement programs while complying with guiding principles and regulations. Define project objectives, prioritize timelines, define resource requirements, and organize any required teams for completion.
  • Ensure products maintain compliance with the applicable judicial and Federal Provincial Territorial agreements.
  • Ensure products observe AFSC's level of quality standards and report on the performance of the products to management.
  • Collaborate with various teams across the organization to ensure product objectives are met
  • Provide input into forecasting and analysis/reporting of forecasting results.
  • Write policies, procedures, and reports relating to the role and products.
  • Support and responses to ministerial requests on AFSC products.
  • Support the resolution of client escalated issues on AFSC products.
  • Represent AFSC as an expert witness at formal appeal hearings and any other legal proceedings.
What are we looking for from you?

  • Exceptional product knowledge: in depth technical knowledge of AFSC products, policies and processes that are relevant to the position.
  • Broad knowledge of the agricultural business and its economic drivers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislation under which products are developed and delivered, for example the AFSC act, regulation, the Farm Income Protection Act and the Canadian Agricultural Partnership Agreement.
  • Understanding of comparable programs delivered in Saskatchewan and Manitoba
  • Broad knowledge of commercial and farming operations.
  • Ability to create and maintain collaborative relationships with team members and other employees.
  • Project management knowledge.
  • Proven change management skills.
  • Provide support and maintenance on relevant SharePoint sites for product documents
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts with ease and clarity.
  • Ability to negotiate, facilitate and collaborate to achieve desired results.
