The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Permanent
Service Writer at our Head Quarters in Winnipeg.
This position is responsible for managing internal and external customer service inquiries, ensuring that all requests are handled in a timely manner, and providing regular updates to customers on the status of their requests.
Role and Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule repairs and maintenance activities
- Obtain updates on repairs/services progress from the Trappers Shop and outside vendors on Trapper's equipment and update both US and container fleets, anticipate and advise them of possible delays where applicable
- Provide quotes for repair by costing materials, supplies, and labour.
- Provide 24hour oncall service to receive and act on emergency (breakdowns) calls based on rotating schedule
- Coordinate emergency and outside repairs with external repair facilities
- Accurately diagnose automotive problems and services by listening to customers' description of symptoms, and then prepare Work Orders (WO) which contain accurate information about symptoms, probable causes, as well as repairs and services required
- Update and finalize work orders as work progresses
- Receive service department phone calls and direct to appropriate person as required
- Provide exceptional customer service in a courteous and professional manner
- Obtain authorization for repairs from customers and owner operators
- Effectively communicate with the customer at each stage in the repair process
- Issue and give out Purchase Order numbers to external vendors as required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of one year in a customer service role is required
- Previous experience working in an automotive or truck dealership service department is considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude to assist with troubleshooting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Outlook, Excel, Word
- Excellent customer service skills dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers demonstrates positive customer service attitude
- Multitask, must be flexible and balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines
- Work effectively as a member of a team
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Detailoriented, thorough, and accurate

$20.00-$26.00 per hour
