    THE POSITION:

    The Scotiabank Centre managed by Events East Group is now inviting applications for the position of Event Attendant(casual) with our Guest Experience team.

    Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, the Event Attendant is responsible for greeting guests, venue navigation, and safety awareness during events to ensure our guests at the Scotiabank Centre feel "Alive with Excitement".

    The Event Attendant is part of a larger team who love to put on a show and take care of our guests, offering a memorable experience in a safe and secure environment. This team also monitors compliance to current policies (bag policy, no re-entry, no outside alcohol, etc.), and monitors guest activity for safety and security considerations, escalating as appropriate.

    THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Act as an approachable representative for guests who are visiting Scotiabank Centre.
    • Support the movement of guests at entrances/exits and during events as required, including security gate support.
    • Assist guests who require accessibility or other support.
    • Escalate guest feedback and incidents as required.
    • Be knowledgeable of Events East Emergency Procedures and aid during emergency responses as necessary; understand evacuation procedures and emergency exits.
    • Monitor and visually assess work areas for potential safety situations.
    • Participate in event briefings and attend required training opportunities.
    • Understand the various roles that this team performs to effectively perform all duties and responsibilities within one shift or as required (i.e. scanning tickets at the door upon entry, then moving to monitor activity in the bowl during the event).
    • Support coat check services or other attendant roles when scheduled.

    THE PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • High comfort level dealing with large crowds of people, strangers and challenging social interactions.
    • Demonstrate understanding of and sensitivity to the diversity of patrons and staff.
    • Memory for event details taking place while on shift.

    THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Long periods standing, ascending, and descending stairs.
    • Ability to move throughout the facility, sometimes quickly.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with variable conditions including loud noise, heights, and dark/dim lighting.
    • Must be available to work long shifts hours, including evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
