Reporting to and in partnership with the Training Programs Manager, the Research Coordinator will primarily support the design and implementation of a two-year consulting project with University Canada West (UCW), in addition to supporting other research priorities at Venture for Canada (VFC) as required.

As a new position in the organization, the Research Coordinator will have the opportunity to inform and design VFC's approach to and use of research in working to achieve its mission and vision.


The Research Coordinator will collaborate with VFC's Training Team to design and implement a research strategy, including proposing research methodology aligned with research goals; using a range of tools to acquire information, including but not limited to literature review, interviews, and focus groups; interpreting and communicating results; and maintaining data integrity throughout all aspects of the work.

  • You're adaptable: resilient to quick changes, set backs, and unexpected outcomes, and a resource to your teammates to pick things up again and get back on track.
  • You embrace a digital environment and remote work, but know how valuable inperson connections can be.

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the project team to align on research priorities;
  • Outline a research strategy for the project;
  • Conduct project research, including but not limited to: literature review; surveying; inperson and virtual interviews; and focus groups;
  • Summarize and present your research findings to the Venture for Canada team;
  • Contribute to drafting midpoint reports as well as the final research report;
  • Provide administrative support to the project team, including meeting administration and information management;
  • Represent Venture for Canada in Vancouver, BC, and support efforts to build relationships in Vancouver with relevant project stakeholders;
  • Consult on and support with other VFC opportunities for research efforts to inform program delivery; and
  • Any other reasonable duties requested by Venture for Canada.
Venture for Canada is committed to providing equal pay for equal work with salaries in line with industry standards. The salary for this position is $55,000-$60,000.
