Job Summary:


The Accounting Coordinator, under the direction of the Finance Director, will primarily be responsible to maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all activities.

This position will act as the first line contact with vendors or clients regarding billing problems.

This role will also ensure that all month-end financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

The Accounting Coordinator must possess three years of experience in the financial industry and ability to read, understand, and calculate financial figures such as discounts, interest rates, proportions, percentages, and taxes.


Job Duties:


  • Collect, obtain approval and data entry of all vendor invoices
  • Electronic/paper filing for invoices and supporting documentation
  • Process and approve expense reports, reconcile credit cards
  • Facilitate payment of invoices by sending customer statements and collecting overdue receivables
  • Contact with vendors or clients regarding billing problems
  • Process financial transactions to ensure a proper recording of all business transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financials. Ensure that all monthend financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain yearend working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any internal or external audits or independent reviews being conducted
  • Prepare GST/QST filing, bank loan documents and EDC insurance update
  • Other general accounting dues, as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Accounting diploma or higher is a must
  • Minimum three years of general accounting experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and calculate financial figures such as discounts, interest rates, proportions, percentages, and taxes
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
