    The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the National Government of the Red River Métis - also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

    The Louis Riel Capital Corporation (LRCC) is a Manitoba Métis-owned lending institution created to finance the start-up, acquisition and/ or expansion of viable Métis controlled small businesses based in Manitoba.

    Opportunity

    The Summer program extends for 16 weeks and provides interns the opportunity to gain in-depth, hands-on experience while working and learning alongside our experienced professionals in the financial services industry.

    Primary Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate for this role will possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Verifying completeness of submitted documents for processing following existing business rules and industry requirements.
  • Escalating complex inquiries as needed.
  • Completing general administrative duties such as scanning, printing certificates, mail distribution, and outgoing deliveries.
  • Adhering to compliance guidelines and service levels.
  • In addition to the duties listed above, management may request the completion of other ad hoc duties or projects.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain organized while prioritizing multiple tasks with varying levels of urgency.
  • Solutions-based attitude and an eagerness to drive process improvements by identifying problem areas and presenting solutions to management.
  • Sound computer skills and ability to adapt to and apply new technologies.
  • Willingness and desire to achieve personal goals and team goals.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of any sensitive information as part of the job function.
  • Eligibility

  • Métis students between the ages of 18-30 who attended school full-time during the preceding year and who intends to return to school on a full-time basis in the following academic year. (Part-time and distance education students do not qualify.)
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to provide a minimum of 30 hours of employment per week.
  • Some travel within Manitoba will be required to meet the expectations of the role.
