Salary range is:
$62, $70,441.99 per annum.
We are currently seeking a full-time (37.5 hours/week) contract Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team. This is a contract until March 31, 2024. The Payroll Analyst is responsible for supporting the Finance team with daily payroll functions including assisting with the bi-weekly payroll process, management of benefits, employee inquiries and related accounting as well as provide back up and support to the Payroll Specialist. The incumbent will work closely with the rest of the finance team along with Human Resources, Program Managers and Directors.
CMHA Peel Dufferin has adapted a hybrid working model including a mix of on-site and remote work.
All employees are required to have onsite presence 2 to 3 times per week, or more if needed as per program needs.
What you will do
Payroll and Benefits
- Assist in the completion of the biweekly payroll cycle and benefits administration (e.g., group health and dental benefits, pensions).
- Reconcile payroll information with Human Resources regarding entitlements, leaves of absence and short
- Reconciling all payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies with journal entries.
- Track pension and benefits eligibility, enrolments, and terminations, as well as administer benefits for employees on leave.
- Assist with the preparation of annual payroll reports and reconciliations including but not limited to Revenue Canada T4's, Employer Health Tax, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Remittances and pension plan contributions.
- Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) electronically to Service Canada.
- Produce, update and maintain regular payroll reports.
- Act as main point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding payroll
General Accounting Activities
- Prepares monthly payroll and benefits journal entries and reconcile associated accounts.
- Responsible for preparing periodic and ad hoc reports for financial and or statistical reporting and analysis.
- Provide support during annual interim/yearend financial audit process.
What you need to join our team
- Completion of a postsecondary degree/diploma in Finance/Accounting.
- Completion or enrolment in CPA Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program would be an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll and finance experience.
- Knowledge of Quadrant HR payroll system would be an asset.
- Experience with pension systems (i.e. Healthcare Ontario Pension Plan
- HOOPP)
- Experience working in the notforprofit sector with an interest in health care or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll functions including employment standards and CRA requirements.
- Strong software skills with knowledge of midsize ERP systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Proof of administered fullseries Health Canada approved COVID19 vaccination prior to start date. If unable to be vaccinated for reasons relating to protected grounds under the Code, completed medical or religious exemption must be provided.
- Valid driver's license as driving the Outreach van is required
- Automobile in good repair and insurance coverage as required by agency policy
- Satisfactory police records search and vulnerable sector screening
