Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent of the role will be responsible of managing warehouse staff and monitoring that products are received, transferred, stored, and shipped in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.

The selected person will also be responsible for ensuring we keep up with industry best practices and processes.


ROLE DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

  • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily distribution center operation and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment & supplies
  • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to DC workers.
  • Receive, unpack, pack, load issue, store and deliver materials, supplies or equipment; complete packing slips for shipments as assigned.
  • Route, schedule, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required; file records as required,
  • Monitor automated DC system; operate a computer to enter data, correct errors and control key screens as required.
  • Assure proper routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Observe Health, Safety, Environmental & Regulatory regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • Assist management in establishing DC standards and procedures; advise of budgetrelated needs, assist in the bid process for various supplies as required.
  • Review and communicate staffing requirements for both the dayshift and nightshift.
  • Perform a shift change 15 minutes prior to shift starting with outgoing supervisor
  • Identify appropriate resources, perform daily workload assignments, and make staffing adjustments as required.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Provide assistance to team members and conduct training as needed.
  • Key in shifts production completed on the Productivity report from the company shared drive.
  • Understand customer labeling and packaging requirements and ensure to meet the customer needs.
  • Supervise all the activities in the distribution center as per standard operating policies.
  • Receive, store and handle products effectively in the distribution center.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to ensure quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Track inventory of pallets, bins, and racks.
  • Supervise the repair or destruction of storage racks & devises.
  • Oversee product shipments to customers in accurate and timely manner.
  • Act as the Floor Warden specified in the company Fire Safety Plan.
  • Create and revise all distribution center functional / operational procedures.
  • Ensure that distribution center is maintained clean, safe, and organized.
  • Supervise, train, and complete all customer requested special projects (ie. Sorting, quality inspections, labeling, marking, etc)
  • Other tasks as assigned

REQUIRMENTS

  • Experience:
  • Three to seven years related experience preferred
  • Management experience
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld devices (RF Guns)
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate (required)
