    Description

    Position Summary

    Do you have a strong interest in nursing? A fantastic opportunity awaits! We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care to join our team at Mills Memorial Hospital.

    Working under the guidance of a senior registered nurse, you will provide direct patient care on the Medical/Surgical Unit and potentially other nursing units as needed. In addition to patient care, you will assist with assessments and perform necessary clerical duties.

    The Northern Health In-House Emergency Training Program, known as Regional Emergency Department Education Program (REDEP), is a comprehensive program designed to equip registered nurses with the skills and knowledge required to deliver competent emergency nursing care.

    • Introduction of fundamental topics and guidelines in emergency nursing
    • Development of specialized skills and knowledge for individualized patient care
    • Promotion of professionalism in emergency nursing
    • Availability of 2 training positions for 2024/2025
    • Support for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses by Northern Health for clinical placements
    • Successful completion of pre-requisite courses before assuming the position
    • A commitment of 4 months for education, including online and in-person learning
    • Flexibility for practicums and prior experience on an acute care ward is preferred
    • Mandatory current BLS certification and completion of an ECG course if needed
    • Completion of the education program before working in the department
    • Requirement of an eighteen-month return of service in nursing after program completion
    • Opportunity for specialty positions for qualified candidates

    Shift Rotation/Hours of Work:

    Monday to Friday, Day shifts from 08:00 to 16:00

    Qualifications

    • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant
    • Current certification
